Constant Vigilance in Financial Affairs
I've been meaning to post a wish list of stuff that I need/want to buy but don't have the money for right now.|
The point of this would be to stave off impulse buying and to help cultivate patience in budgeting and financial matters.
At the moment, all that I can recall from my mental wish list are:
- a new silver watch
- a CD player for my car (the in-dashboard kind - I've been living with the cassette-adaptor kind for over a decade)
- a new clock radio with CD player
- an external CD burner/DVD drive for my laptop, or alternatively, a new laptop
(Hmmmm... am I the only one who discerns a theme here?)
I'll revisit this as appropriate.
Good to have a wish list! I don't really have one of my own at the moment - it's all about the baby, and/or the house, right now. Sigh.
Contemplate a portable MP3 player instead of the car CD player. Works in the car, plus is far more flexible, otherwise. Take it to the gym, take it to the park, whatever. We are delighted with ours.
My only issue with that is that I'm still on dialup at home, and my laptop, she is not so powerful.
Otherwise I'd do so in one NY minute.
I'm not sure what that has to do with the idea of an MP3 player. Sounds more like a reason to get a new laptop and/or a faster net connection.
Wait: silver watch with CD player!!!!!
This is so good. I have a mental list also. I have been pretty proud of myself for not buying unnecessary items lately, actually taking them out of my cart and putting them back on the shelf.
Heh heh heh!! That's a really funny mental image!
Good for you for your self-restraint! I've been returning a lot of stuff lately, too.
It definitely helped me to put my mental list into written/electronic form, so that I'm not dwelling on it.
